Ferdinant M. Sonyuy is the President & CEO of the Reconciliation and Development Association (RADA), a non-profit organization that supports community development by promoting sustainable solutions in health, education, peacebuilding and technology. Since 2013, he has been building coalitions to support NCD work in Cameroon and Africa. Prior to 2020, he served as the Program Manager for NCDs with the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services. He has been the Secretary-General of the Cameroon Civil Society NCD Alliance since July 2020 and the Africa NCDs Network’s Secretariat Chair. Ferdinant is a One Young World Ambassador and a US Department of State Community Solutions Program Fellow from Cameroon, and a two-time UICC Fellow. Ferdinant holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Buea, Cameroon and a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Promotion from the Public Health Foundation of India, and currently is a Masters in Health Economics, Policy and Management at the University of Bamenda. His passion remains to create impact and employment by engaging and involving young people in their areas of community development that align with his towards comprehensive community development.
Interests and Hobbies
I am passionate about the health and well-being of communities, particularly in the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases. I enjoy playing handball and brisk walking for sports, as well as reading. My vision is to see comprehensive and holistic community development where the moral compass sustains physical development and the human being is developed for maximum potential for themselves, others, and the environment.
